John Davis Causey, V

I have my eyes open for a minute!
I was very concerned about the drive home from Jackson. John Davis rode in the backseat by himself like a big boy. This is what he looked like when we got home!

On April 7, 2009, Davis and I were blessed with a healthy and beautiful baby boy! This is John Davis when we came home from the hospital.

Mother's Intuition

You know how they say that Mother's have this weird intuition that tells them things about their children no one else knows? I don't have it. I have thought since the moment I found out I was pregnant that this baby was a girl. I was wrong! Davis and I are having a boy! We couldn't be more excited. Hopefully, that intuition thing will kick in when the baby comes.

Happy Additions

The Causey family is growing, and I am not referring to a pet. I mean an actual human. Yes, you read it right, we are having a baby! I am due April 15. Can you believe it? Me and Davis actual parents. We are so excited and cannot wait to see our little one!

Sandals - The Good, The Bad and THE CHEESE

Davis and I spent the 4th of July at the Sandal's Dunn's River Villagio in Ochos Rios, Jamaica. Not very patriotic of us I know, but the wedding ate up most of our vacation time and I had a long weekend off of work. Here was our experience with Sandals:

The Good
  • Beautiful Beach
  • Amazing Pools - floats were aplenty!
  • Tasty Frozen Beverages - The Dirty Banana rocks
  • Very relaxing
  • The bed was very comfortable and the room was nice- we slept wonderful

The Bad

  • THE FOOD - I am admittedly a food snob but this was awful. I couldn't have stood it another day.

THE CHEESE

I cannot create a bulleted list that would justify the cheese. I have never been to a place that tries so hard to produce romance. Seriously, who wants to listen to Whitney Houston singing "I Will Always Love You" at 9:30 in the morning over breakfast. And I'm not talking about subtle music in the background. I mean blaring from Peavey's throughout the resort all day long. Whitney Houston, Luther Vandross, REO Speedwagon and the list goes on. I like a good classic REO Speedwagon every once and awhile but this was ridiculous.

I will have to say, overall, we enjoyed our vacation. It was much needed and very relaxing. We were complete bums the entire weekend and it was fabulous. I haven't been that lazy since college and I even came home with my own pale version of a tan!

Frequent Visitor

Every night we have a creepy visitor enter our living room. His name is Horatio Caine. With his cool shades and profound statements, he has intrigued us. Seriously, why do we watch this garbage. Night after night we watch this one sided character and are completely entertained. It is ridiculous. We are completely obsessed with CSI: Miami. Only Miami though, we could care less about New York or Las Vegas, and surely they must have a better leading man. But no, it is H we choose to torment us every evening.

Farewell L&M'S

Last night, Davis and I had our final meal at L&M'S Kitchen and Salumeria. We drove to Oxford and back for one last Chef's Tasting. If you ever had the opportunity to eat there, you know how fabulous it was. If not, you missed out. It is so upsetting to think we will never be able to enjoy a meal from there ever again. Our meal was fantastic and definitely worth the drive. We will miss you L&M'S!!!

State Tennis Tournament

This weekend, my 2.5 tennis team was fortunate enough to play in the state tennis tournament. We had a great time and played hard. We won our first 3 matches, but lost the third eliminating us from the tournament. GO TEAM GREENVILLE!!!
